Atlas of Equipped Productive Areas

The Atlas shows the location of business areas in Emilia-Romagna responding to various exigencies of potential investors in terms of placement (proximity to infrastructures and regional economic drivers). The Atlas does not map all of the location opportunities available in Emilia-Romagna, but it only locates and describes those areas that have been proposed to become APEAs (Ecologically Equipped Productive Areas) after negotiation between the Regional Government, the Provinces and the Municipalities of the Region where the APEA locations have been identified.

Emilia-Romagna Regional Government established the requirements that APEAs have to meet. They regard: energy supply, sewer system, waste disposal, recycling, and separate collection, ICT network infrastructures, access ways, positive impact of the area’s facilities on the environmental context, presence of green spaces and staff services. One more feature of the APEA is that it has to be run by just one managing body in charge of the whole area. This will enable the businesses located in the area to speed up the administrative procedures concerning permits and licences.

The Atlas provides a geo-referenced and interactive representation of the APEAs thanks to a webGIS-based location system and captions showing the main logistical infrastructures and the administrative borders of each area (which can be viewed by clicking on the relevant squares). Besides the Atlas provides per each APEA a callout box that can be viewed by clicking on the relevant circles on the map, linked to an info-sheet providing updated information on the facilities and infrastructures available and on the potentially expanding areas as well as a zoom view of the target area.
