The fairs

The trade fair system of Emilia-Romagna is one of the most important in Europe and the second in Italy after that of Lombardy, both in terms of international exhibitions and in terms of the presence of foreign users.

At the top of the regional trade fair system is Bologna, including also the structures of Modena and Ferrara. These are followed by Parma (also tied to the trade fairs of Reggio Emilia and Piacenza) and Rimini, which also includes the trade fairs centres of Forlì and Ravenna.

A host of international trade fair events scheduled each year:

Saie (Building Industrialisation Show)

Cersaie (International Show of ceramics for building)

Cosmoprof (Trade fair of international cosmetics and haircare)

Motorshow (International show for automotives and motorcycles)

Cibus (dedicated to the food industry)

Eima (international exhibition of the agricultural machinery industry).

The regional fairs have been progressively successful in terms of attendance and takings and in 2007 have been generally profitable.
