Efficient services for businesses

The public system helps businesses, ensuring a wide range of services. Thanks to the regional IT network, Lepida, and in the wake of the increasing digitalisation of the territory, the public institutions of Emilia-Romagna have a rate of presence online far higher than the Italian average and are at the leading edge in Europe for the supply of interactive services.

Where the web is not sufficient, the one-stop offices are used: offices where the business can go for information and to complete all bureaucratic procedures with ease. These are managed by the Municipalities and funded by the Region. In Emilia-Romagna there are 325 One-Stop Shops for Productive Business, each one provided by a local council or associated councils. The One-Stop Shop is the single reference point for access to information about authorisation, and it makes it possible to communicate with a single Public Administration representative and guarantees fixed timescales for concluding administrative procedures.

The process of administrative simplification has been taking place in the region for several years and continually aims to speed up business services. The Regional Plan for Telematics provides for progressive integration between local bodies in order to create a community network: an integrated system of services for incorporating standards, an exchange network of information and data and shared points of access.

A single notification procedure allowing a firm to set itself up in Italy with confirmation within 24 hours and enrolment in institutions and obligatory registers within seven days, is also in its trial phase.
