The goal of internationalisation

Growth in exports and internationalisation of the production system, strategic alliances with the most significant regions for the regional economy, the presence of companies from Emilia-Romagna in the most distant and promising markets (China, Russia, Brasil), support for industrial clusters, high-tech sectors and the regional trade fair system.

These are all dealt with in strand 5 of the three-year programme, that supports consortiums of small and mediun enterprises and which also promotes the co-ordination of the Region’s businesses with the system of chambers of commerce, business associations, universities and local bodies. For example, through its alliance with the trade fair system, Emilia-Romagna facilitates the international presence of the excellence of regional production and promotes the support of initiatives formed by companies, often in partnership with one another, for breaking into new markets or creating structures for internationalisation.

A wide range of local marketing activities is also under way, promoted at an international level, often in conjunction with ERVET. Vital help for businesses is also provided by Sprint, the regional office for internationalisation, which gives companies information and assistance with technical matters such as insurance for commercial credit; regional, national, supranational or foreign funding in support of internationalisation; trade fairs abroad and international trade fairs in Italy.
